Mashups...Done Right

A HUGE genre of new music right now is the Mashup.  For those of you who don't know, or for some reason can't guess what it is, a mashup is one single track, consisting of two or more individual tracks mixing the vocals, instrumentals, harmonies, and melodies.  Personally, I am not a huge fan of mashups.  I respect their ingenuity, though.  No doubt a well put together mashup is almost mathematical in its flow, but I just don't love them.  This could have to do with the fact that almost every major mashup group uses pop music tracks, and most pop songs make me fucking crazy.

BUT, if you haven't gathered by now, this is an electro music blog.  So what type of mashup belongs in my post?  Electro Mashups.

They can be considered glorified set mixing, but the really well done tracks are absolutely nuts.

Without further adieu, here are a couple electro mashups

Extra Credit:  If you DO like pop mashups, as I know many people do, make sure to check out the Best of Bootie compilations, created by underground mashup superstars, A + D.  They take the best bootleg mashups found around the internet and create a yearly mix.

With Love,
